Puppy Diaries: Theo's Words of Wisdom

First Day on the Job!

Hi, My name is Theo; you may know me as (the cuter) one of the store pups at Hip Hound. I am now nearing my 10-month birthday, and feeling wiser than ever. Here are few of the big things I’ve learned in my many months of puppyhood:

1. Being a puppy is awesome, but only for the first few months. I have recently noticed that with my old age, people don’t treat me like they used too. Today this lady walked right past me and didn’t even give me the time of day. EXCUSE ME LADY do you see this face??

2. Treats are pawmazing, but in moderation… Working at a dog shop has its perks. One being ENDLESS amounts of treats. Now while this may seem like heaven for any dog, it turns out that there is such thing as TOO many treats. I won’t get into the details but it’s not a pretty sight when you eat one too many Stella & Chewys.

3. The humans are going to take your picture, and frankly it’s just easier to pose the first time.Treats are always involved, so it’s a win win…

4. I’m about at that age where I can’t quite get away with everything. I’ve come to figure out that there are 3 key things that are no longer cute/okay. 1. Pottying inside. (Especially if you’re as big as I am…) 2. Stealing, hopefully you don’t live in a dog wonderland, but if you ever pop in to see me – don’t take things, I’ve discovered it’s a hard no-no. 3. I don’t get to eat whenever I want to anymore, and I don’t get to push my brother out of the way and eat his…apparently I’ve filled out and now I need to watch my figure. Life happens so fast when you’re a dog!

5. I’m one pretty lucky pup. I’ve got a big brother who tolerates me, a mama who treats me like royalty, a bunch of awesome aunties and uncles at the shop, and a store that is full of lots of yummy goodies. Life, honestly, couldn’t be any better.

All in all puppyhood has treated me well, and has taught me many valuable lessons. I hope my few words of wisdom can help all you other pups out there!!

Until next time!

The Hippest Hound,

Theo
